Into the Woods 2016
For the 2016 edition of Into the Woods we tried something new in combination with our main vision we've always tried to show in our festival designs. Create a space for retreat from the festival without being secluded from the festival. But this year we wanted to combine this with something else. So we decided to create a soundscape from poems, inspired by "the festival visitor". The poems are from dutch poets such as Simon Vinkenoog, W. Hussem and some poems were made by children. In the biggest tent you could listen to the poems, read out loud by soft friendly voices, in the smaller tent you could just relax for a bit and listen to the sound of the festival and in another tent you could read the poems for yourself. Made this way that you would step into a little village where the people took over and moved around stuff as if they were inhabitants just for a while. Listening to poems and recharging their energy to go crazy again a couple of minutes later.
